toothache

Hi

I have been having toothache all night through Saturday night and really could not sleep at all until about 6am. At that time, I think through shear exhaustion, I fell asleep and did not wake up until now.

I took several different painkillers like ibuprofen and paracetamol but they did not do much for my toothache last night and now once again, the pain is back and really hurting.

I think that the pain is coming from my back molar tooth which has been decaying away for years but up until now, it only use to occasionally mildly hurt but now its hurting really badly.

I would like to know, what you recommend for my toothache, do you think I should take more painkillers or do you think, I should have it removed. One thing I must mention is that I am very nervous and would need sedation for the extraction. Can the tooth be removed when its so infected?

If you suffer from toothache, you should see a dentist to assess the cause of the pain and treat it as necessary. Simply taking painkillers just masks the pain and does not address the underlying cause of the problem.

If the tooth is infected, as long as we can numb it, we can usually treat it and if you need sedation, we can provide you with that too.
