    Default Painfull abcess

    Hi,
I developed toothache about 12 days ago. It was an infection in the lower jaw, one of the front small molars. I took a course of Fluclocillin and painkillers. After 10 days the pain was still there and my skin and lowr lip was going numb.
I went to my dentist who xrayed and confirmed it was an infection.
I am now on Amoxocillin but the pain is getting worse.
Can you stop the pain / remove the tooth.
Can it be done tonight - after midnight on Sunday? Will there be extra costs for this time of night.?
Can you remove a tooth if there is still a painfull infection?

    Red face Painfull abcess

    Hi

Thank you for your post. I am sorry to hear about the problems that you are having. Our emergency dentists are able to see you tonight, if you wish to be seen tonight and can usually do the extraction tonight, if deemed necessary. We can usually remove the tooth as long as the infection is not so severe that it stops the local anaesthetic from working.

For emergency patients, we charge a small emergency consultation fee but the treatment fees are exactly the same as during the daytime hours and are published on the website fees section.

If you wish to book an emergency appointment tonight, please call the 24hour emergency line on 0208 547 9997.

Thanks for your reply, it's comforting to know that I can be seen even on a Sunday night. However, from past experience I am assuming my infection would be too serious and the local would not be effective.
I will keep on with the pain killers and antibiotics for a while.
    Thanks again.
