Default Tooth Cutting my tounge; Post dental work

    Hi,
Today at my dentist's, while he waiting for the numbing needle to kick in, he starting "grinding" down the last tooth up the back of my mouth, the final tooth.

He mentioned something about making it easier for me to clean, now the anesthesia has worn off, I can feel a rugged, rough, burred and extremely SHARP and uneven tooth surface that keeps cutting my tounge.

I actually have cuts on my index finger from trying to touch the tooth itself, it's crazy sharp.

The tooth is significantly ground down to the point on one side it feels like it just "melts" into my gum.
I'm not experiencing any real pain from it, other than my tounge and a small part of my cheek, where the tooth is cutting it.
    Please help.

    Thank you for your post.

A sharp tooth or filling can be quickly and simply smoothed down so that its no longer sharp. A top wisdom tooth can sometimes have a very short clinical crown especially if its not fully erupted due to lack of space. I would if I was you, go back to your dentist and ask him to smooth the sharp tooth, which he can easily do for you.
