    Default Something in my gum?

Two years ago I had both impacted lower wisdom teeth removed in hospital. All went well and I had been pain free since. The upper wisdom teeth were removed years earlier.
However, over the last couple of weeks I have been experiencing severe pain in my right lower jaw centered where the tooth was extracted. And I can feel 'something' tiny and hard in my gum. Any ideas what it could be?

Without seeing your tooth we cant be sure exactly what is coming through your gum but sometimes during tooth extractions small bits of root fracture and are left behind in the jaw. This is because sometimes in chasing small bits of root, more damage can be done to the surrounding structures which would not be to the benefit of the patient. In time these bits of root may come out through the gum. Usually they are painless unless they become infected. Other things such as a fragment of bone may also be the cause of the problem. I would recommend that you have a review with your dentist to see what can be done.
