    Lightbulb wisdom teeth removal recovery

    Hi

I had two of my wisdom teeth removed yesterday at Pearl and so far I have not had any pain at all but I have noticed a little bit of facial swelling.

The oral surgeon gave me an instruction leaflet detailing what I should and should not do after my wisdom tooth extractions and this information sheet seems to cover most things that I can think of.

My wisdom tooth extractions involved surgery and the oral surgeon told me that he pushed my gum back and removed some of my bone and he placed three stitches to close the area.

I would like to know how long the recovery period for my wisdom teeth removal is likely to take? How many days do I need to take off from work for full recovery? Will the oral surgeon be able to provide me with a letter detailing the surgery so that I could give that to the people at work.

Red face wisdom teeth removal recovery

Thank you for your post. Your Wisdom teeth removal was a surgical procedure so there is likely to be some facial swelling afterwards and this is to be expected in the recovery phase. The amount of pain and swelling varies from individual to individual and some people do not have any pain or swelling after wisdom teeth extractions.

You should use the prescribed medication to minimize the pain and swelling and reduce the possibility of infection developing.

Some people need up to three/five days rest to recover from wisdom teeth extractions. I will ask the reception team to prepare an absence note for your employers and post it to you.
