    Angry Deep tooth filling

    Hi

My dentist did a deep filling on my top right back tooth about three months ago and ever since the filling was done, the tooth has been very sensitive and I cant seem to bite my teeth on that side.

She told me that the decay was very bad and she had to do a deep filling and said we will see how it goes. Ever since yesterday morning the tooth has been throbbing and I have been trying different pain killers without much help and I am worried that I might have infection in this tooth. I rang the dental surgery that I usually go to but they have no appointments until friday. What can I do to stop this terrible tooth pain now?

    Arrow Deep tooth filling

It sounds like you may have irreversible pulpitis in that tooth and if thats the case, you will need to either have the tooth root filled or extracted. Its best to keep teeth that can be restored and I suggest that you call the emergency dentist on 0208 547 9997 tonight and book a consultation appointment for tonight.

If he/she can save the tooth, they will probably carry out pulp extipation, leaving your dentist to do root canal stage 2 for you in around a weeks time. If you have irreversible pulpitis, taking pain killers will make very little difference and you are better off seeing a dentist as soon as possible.
