    Question A broken tooth

    Hello

Last night whilst eating dinner I broke one of my molar teeth at the back. I am not sure if an actual part of the tooth broke or a filling broke or both but a big chunk of my tooth is now missing.

The tooth is very sensitive to air but I can chew with it without pain. Can my tooth be saved? What do I need to do?

    Exclamation Broken Tooth

I am sorry to hear about what has happened to your tooth. Your tooth is sensitive because the dentine is now exposed to the air and saliva.

You need to see a dentist immediately. With a Broken tooth, if theres enough of the tooth still remaining It should be possible to save the tooth with a crown. If the treatment is delayed, the rest of the tooth may fracture as well.
