    Default pain!

Last week my son whos 18 bit on a raw piece of veg and pushed a back tooth into his gum. He has been to see a dentist who said that he needed to go to hospital to have it taken out but he would have to wait two weeks. He is in a lot of pain, cant sleep, cant go to work. Painkillers are not helping. Any advice please?

    Cool pain!

    Thank you for your post.

I have not heard of a vegtable pushing a tooth back into the gum before, but its possible for a hard vegtable to break a tooth thats decayed and it then appears as though the tooth has been pushed back but actually its fractured. However trauma can cause tooth intrusion and if a vegtable has caused true intrusion thats unusal.

Anyway he is in pain, so he needs to be soon ASAP. We usually do a lot of extractions that some dentists refer to hospitals as we have very experienced dentists in this field. Extractions are usually carried out on the same day as presentation or soon afterwards. You can book a consultation for your son by calling the reception team on 0208 547 9997 or 0208 481 0003.
