    Cool Injury to my tooth

    Hi

I was playing with my two year old son tonight and he accidentally hit my front tooth with his head and now the corner of my front tooth has chipped off.

The tooth aches a little and is a bit sensitive when I drank water earlier but looks to me to be in the same position as it was before I injured my tooth.

I would like to know what should be done with this tooth. Do I need to have it porcelain veneered or can be fixed in any different way. Do I need to see the emergency dentist tomorrow morning or can this fractured tooth wait until I see my dentist next week?

    Talking Injury to my tooth

    Thank you for your question.

A fractured tooth should be seen by a dentist as soon as possible as delaying assessment may lead to further fractures and damage to the tooth. The treatment depends on the extent of the fracture but simple fractures can be restored with composite white filling, more complex and extensive fractures may mean that the tooth will need a veneer or a crown.
