    Lightbulb Dislodged front tooth

    Hi

I was involved in an accident on my way to work this morning and as a result of that my front tooth seems to have been partially dislodged. I know its not in the same place as it used to be, because my other front tooth is not so far back as this tooth in terms of its level in my mouth.

I find that I cant close my mouth fully, because my lower teeth touch this tooth when I shut my mouth and then the partially dislodged front tooth hurts really badly and so I am trying not to put my teeth fully together.

Could you please tell me what I need to do with my dislodged front tooth. If I leave it as it is, will it by itself go back to where it used to be in my mouth by itself or do I need to see an emergency dentist?

    Red face Dislodged front tooth

    Thank you for your question.

I would recommend that you see an emergency dentist immediately. A dislodged tooth needs to be repositioned into its correct position immediatley before the periodontal fibers reform around the tooth in the incorrect position. This needs to be done by an experienced dentist and your tooth will need careful monitoring as it may lose vitality and need root canal treatment.
