    Lightbulb One visit crown

    Hi

My dentist made me a one visit crown last month on my middle top number 5 tooth. The colour of the crown looked different to the rest of my teeth but my dentist said that eventually the rest of my teeth will darken and look the same as the crown.

However this morning as I was eating a sandwich, the crown split in half and a whole chunk of it came off the tooth and has now left a sharp crown with an edge which my tongue catches from time to time.

I am worried that the tooth itself will break and leave me with a stump. Can a one visit crown be repaired or does it need to be replaced. Are one visit crowns weaker than normal crowns? Is that why the crown has broken so soon?

Can your emergency dentists fix this tooth this weekend? I dont want to go back to work on monday with a broken crown. Also the tooth is very sensitive and I am worried that it might get worst by Monday.

    Smile One visit crown

    Hi

Thank you for your post. Generally speaking one visit crowns are weaker than lab made crowns and this is why at Pearl dental clinic we only use lab made crowns. It might be possible to repair your crown but we will need to see you to assess if its possible to repair or not.

Our emergency dentists will be able to provide you with a temporary crown if your crown needs to be replaced and this time we will provide you with a stronger lab made crown instead of a one visit crown.
