reviews on mini dental implants

Hi

I have three missing teeth at the back of my top jaw on the right and recently I saw a dentist regarding getting these teeth replaced with dental implants.

He said that he would recommend three mini dental implants to replace the gap at the back of my mouth and said that a whole procedure will take less than three months to complete.

I then saw a more experienced dentist who advised against mini implants saying that they dont last that long and said that mini implants will fail easily and recommended that I have a sinus lift and proper sized conventional implants. He said that his implant treatment would need 9-12 months to complete.

I would like to know if there are any reviews on mini dental implants that I could read to make up my own mind on mini implant longevity.

We dont place any mini dental implants because they do have a higher failure rate than standard implants and all of the serious implantologists that I know do not place mini implants other than as a temporary measure.

The problem is especially worst in the back of the mouth where there are very high bite forces on the implants and a short mini implant is probably unlikely to survive long term under such high bite forces.
