Is it OK to have a dental implant whilst 7 weeks pregnant?

Hi

I had planned to have a dental implant after my tooth was removed about 6 weeks ago. The tooth had fractured and my dentist recommended that it should be removed and replaced with an implant.

Now I have found out that I am 7 weeks pregnant and I am not sure if I can have a dental implant whilst pregnant?

Do you advise that I go through with my implant treatment or do you think that I should wait until after my pregnancy?

Thank you for your question.

FIrst of all congratulation for your pregnancy. The second is that I think it is better for you to wait till later for your implant and consider it one your baby is born. The main reason is that there will need for taking some x-rays during implant placement which is better not to do if you are pregnant.
The other reason is that you probably have a lot to think about and consider when you are pregnant. Good luck.
