    Post Unerupted buried canines

    Hello

I have two upper canines that are buried and even though I am in my twenties these teeth have not come through. I still have two baby canine teeth that although they are wobbly, they are still holding on.

My baby teeth are loose and I would like to know what treatment options I have for replacing them with something more solid and long lasting.

I have thought about dental implants but I am not sure if I can have implants whilst the buried canines are in my jaw. Would I need to have them removed first? What is the procedure for getting these baby teeth replaced with implants?

    Your options are as follows:

    1. Have the buried teeth assessed orthodontically and if they can they be brought down into the occlusion, then have them exposed and bonded with gold chain and brought into the occlusion.

    If thats not possible, then:

    2. Extract the baby teeth +/- the buried teeth and then have either an implant, a bridge or a denture. If the buried teeth are causing cyst formation or damage to the neighbouring teeth or block the path of the implants, then they need to be removed.
