    Question Implant crown not fitting

I had an implant done in Turkey but the crown is just not fitting correctly. The implant itself is good. As this is the 2nd crown I have had, the first fell out, it still has too much gap and food is getting caught underneath which even with the best dental hygiene applied is causing me grief.

I looked at your website and was impressed. What would be the cost of a crown if I were to come to you ?

    Default Implant crown not fitting

    Hi,

    Thank you for your question.

There can be few reasons for your implant crown not fitting correctly. A lot of these can be dependent on the type of the abutment that you have on top of your implant underneath the implant crown. In other words do you have an screw retained abutment and crown or is it a screw retained abutment with the crown cemented on top.

from your question it appears that the main problem with your crown is the food packing and if so you may need a new crown on top of your implant. If the crown keeps coming off, very likely you have cemented crown on top of the abutment and the reason for it keeps coming off can be poor fit of the crown on abutment or problems with the bite.

Whether we would be able to correct this problem partly depends on the type of implant you have. If there are problems with the fit of the abutment and it need to be replaced, we must have the correct tools and in our practice we only use Straumann implants and we can help you with this type of implant.

Having mentioned all of these there can be a simple occlusional correction that is needed without the need for replacing the crown. My best suggestion to you is really that for you to come and allow us to assess your case and see how your problem can be fixed in the easiest way. But in general a crown on abutment on average cost about £500.
