Cool Success Rates of Dental Implants

    Hi

I am looking to have four dental implants placed to replace my missing teeth at the back of my mouth. I am doing a bit of research to see what the success rates of dental implants are, before making a decision to have dental implants or dentures. One of my friends who has a denture, says I wouldn't like dentures and says that if she could afford implants, she would have dental implants.

Different sites state different figures ranging from 90% to 100% for implant success rate and I yet haven't come across any site quoting less than 90%. In your opinion what is the success rate with dental implants?

Does it make any difference which brand of implant I choose to have? Some brands seem to cost more than others, what is the advantage of going for a more well know brand?

Default Success Rates of Dental Implants

    Hi,

    Thank you for your question.

Success rate of dental implants does vary from case to case and without any shadow of doubt the make and brand of the implant is extremely important in success rate of the implant. That is why at Pearl Dental Clinic we only use one of the best and most expensive types of implants, swiss made Straumann implants.

The other factors that plays an important role in success rate of implants is the person placing them. The knowledge and clinical expertise of the person or the the team of people that place the implants play an important role.

Another factor is that there may be practitioners that place implants may cut corners in order to try to keep the cost of the implant down. Examples of this can be use of cheap implants and carbon copies. The other is that in about 90% of implant cases some sort of grafting (bone or soft tissue) will be needed and again a lot of practitioners to keep the cost down skip these necessary steps, hence jeopardizing the success of the implants.

Another important factor is the general health of the patient and their habits. In a healthy young and non smoker, there is a 95-98% success rate at Pearl Dental Clinic with our implants. This is a very good rate because every part of the treatment that relates to us as providers, we taken extreme measure to ensure that we only and only provide the very best of all the factors mentioned above.
