    Smile Mini bridge

I have a tooth that was originally the front part of a bridge (that went wrong) a few years ago the bridge was seperated from the front tooth. Then the crown fell off and was put back in again supported by a metal post.

This lasted successfully for about 4 years when recently that fell off leaving just a minimal amount of tooth left. My current dentist has suggested that I have a mini bridge which will mean the healthy tooth in front will have to be crowned (this I dont want to do) the alternative is to have an implant into the tooth. Are you able to do this and if so how much will it cost?

    Default Mini bridge

    Hi,

    Thank you for your question.

I am not sure if I have fully understand the situation with your teeth but I can tell you that I have got the most important part of it and that is I fully agree with you that it is NOT advisable to have a healthy tooth drilled down in order to have a bridge. This was a choice of treatment when we did not have the option of implants.

Having bridges in most of the cases to have missing teeth replaced is not a good option. Specially that studies have shown bridges on average last about 7 years and after that one will usually end up with more teeth missing and even a bigger problem than before. Financially it is also not as good as having implants because long term implants works out to be cheaper. In short the answer to your question is that implant seems to be a much better choice and we would be very happy to see you and assess your case and treat you.
