I currently have a crown on a front tooth, it looks fine but over the past 10 years it has come out 3 times so I want an alternative.

2 questions please

1) my dentist has said that it wil cost £2000 for an implant, how can you do this for £600, is the quality compromised?

2)I have looked at your video, how is the implant screwed in to ensure that this does not come out like my crown?

Thank you for your post. Your dentist probably quoted you the cost of a complete Implant + Abutment + Crown at £2000.

Our specialist Oral Surgeon charges £1690 for a complete implant + abutment + crown. He has placed a lot of implants and his quality of work is very high as you can see in our implant gallery.

The £600 quoted price is for the implant only and relies on your own dentist to place the abutment and crown. Some dentists refer patients to us for the implant only and do the abutment and crown themselves and so we have the £600 rate for that purpose.

The abutment is screwed to the implant and the chance of this screw separating from the implant is very low. The crown is either cemented to the abutment or a screw retained crown is used. Cement retained crowns in my experience debond more often than screw retained ones. If you have any worries about this, ask for a screw retained crown to be on the safe side.

If the crown de-bonds, it is very easily re-cemented/screwed back on to the implant/abutment and obviously there is no risk of decay as the implant/abutment are made from titanium.
