    Talking Rockey mountain bone

    Hi

I have been told by my dentist that I need a bone graft for my front tooth implant. He has suggested using rockey mountain bone graft but has also given me the option of using my own bone. I am not interested in using my own bone, because I don't wish to have more surgery.

I would like to know from where rockey mountain bone comes from? Is there a risk that it might not work in my jaw? If it does not work what can be done then?

Do your dentists use rockey mountain bone in your surgery? Have you had occasions when it has not worked and what have you done when that happens?

    Cool Rockey mountain bone

Thank you for your post. Rockey mountain bone comes from donated human bone to the Rockey mountain tissue bank in north america. We do use a lot of Rockey mountain bone in our practice and there has been occasions where the bone graft has not worked. In these situations we sometimes have to remove the bone graft and start again.

I have to say that there is also the option of using patients own bone but obviously this involves more surgery but even so, some patients prefer this option.
