Lightbulb Is it possible to have dental implants after having dentures for 30 years

    Hi

I have been wearing full dentures for almost 30 years now and gradually I got used to them now. Initially I had a problem wearing them and found them too bulky but then slowly I have become used to them. They do however restrict what I can eat and every few years I have to replace them becase they get worn down.

I have been thinking about having dental implants for a while now but I would like to know if it is possible to have dental implants after having dentures for almost 30 years?

Arrow Is it possible to have dental implants after having dentures for 30 years

    Hi

Thank you for your post. It should still be possible to have implants even after losing your teeth 30 years ago. The only thing that you will probably need would be bone augmentation, because bone shrinks back in time once teeth are lost and over 30 years, there is likely to be a lot of bone loss.

Once bone augmentation is carried out and works, you could have implants placed in the bone and then have a fixed bridge installed over the implants, should you wish.
