    Question Roxolid stronger Implant

    Hi

I need to have 2 dental implants and a bridge to replace my three missing teeth after a bridge that I had for twenty odd years failed earlier this year.

I have been looking into different types of dental implants out there and found that there is a new Straumann Implant called Roxolid on the market that is considered to be better than all the old titanium implants out there.

I would like to know your opinion about Roxolid implants and if you have placed any Roxolid implants at your clinic?

    Arrow Roxolid stronger Implant

    Thank you for your post.

Most dental implants on the market are pure Titanium implants that have been used in dental implantology for many years. Roxolid (Rock Solid) Straumann implants are made up of an alloy of titanium and zirconium which makes them very strong in thin section. Roxolid is undergoing trials at the moment and as the results have been very promising its likley to be released by Straumann into the UK market soon.

At Pearl Dental Clinic we have placed a number of Roxolid implants as part of the clinical trials for Roxolid. Interestingly, preclinical study results so far show that Roxolid integrated with bone better than pure titanium implants. Also Roxsolid has 50% greater material strength than Titanium.

    According to Straumann:

“The combination of enhanced strength and osseointegration could open the door for a new generation of smaller, safer implants, which would be particularly advantageous in situations where there is limited space between teeth. A further potential advantage could be the use in thin bone (narrow bone ridge), where wider implants would necessitate bone augmentation/grafting procedures.”

We are very excited about Roxolid and feel that it will be a great addition to the Straumann Implant range.
