Cosmetic dental implants

Hi

I recently lost one of my front teeth in an accident. I have been given a denture by my dentist as a temporary measure and I really dont like it. I have researched into dental implants and I am looking to have an implant instead of the denture.

I would like the implant to have a really good aesthetic result because when I smile you can see all of the denture tooth and the gum around it. Are there any cosmetic dental implants out there that would look really natural and match my other teeth.

There are several things that can be done by Cosmetic dentists to produce a fantastic natural result with dental Implants.


1. The abutment (connection between the implant and its crown) can be a Zirconium abutment (natural white colour) rather than the standard titanium abutment (dark grey colour).

2. The implant crown should have a Zirconium core (white colour) rather than the grey colour core that standard metal ceramic crowns have. This makes the crown look more natural and should the gum recede in future you will not see a grey metal margin exposed.

3. Provision of a temporary abutment and crown to shape the gum around the implant before provision of the final abutment and crown helps to shape the gum margin in an optimal manner and helps with the final crown shade selection.

4. The gum may need manipulation to create the perfect looking gum margin and you will need to make sure that your Implantologist is experienced in gum plastic surgery to create a cosmetic final result.
