Temporary Implant Crown

Hello

I see on your website that you recommend placing a temporary implant crown on implants. Can you tell me what is the point of this step? Surely, its better to put the final crown on the implant as soon as possible to reduce any delay.

I need 2 front dental implants and I am just doing some research on the different systems and methods available.

Thank you for your post.

Temporary crowns on the implants is placed in some cases to improve the aesthetic result. It is not always necessary and it is mostly used to improve the shape of the gum before the actual/final crown is placed. Specially for the front implants where the crown is more visible.

The best advantage of temporary crown is that the final crown can be specifically made to fit the new shape of the gum that is made by the temporary crown. Then the looks will be much better.

The other advantage for patient is that the final shape, size and colour can be more accurately assessed and any corrections needed can be introduced in the final crown.
