Removal of a dental implant

Hello

I had a dental implant placed abroad and I have had severe problems with it since it was placed. I have seen two dentists in the UK and they both say that the implant was placed in the wrong position without enough bone around it and it will fail.

Unfortunately now the implant has become very loose and I am worried that it will fall out and leave a gap that will be obvious when I smile and will cause embarrassment to me.

The dentists that I have seen so far, don't want to accept my case for another implant saying that I don't have enough bone for another implant. Can you tell me if you can help me?

Unfortunately when an implant becomes loose, its usually caused by a lot of bone loss. Now a new implant can be tried but it will need bone grafting first to allow bone quantities to buildup again in the surgical site. So we can remove your implant and do bone grafting and probably around 6 months later, try another implant.

If the bone loss is caused by gum disease, then you will need to have your gum disease treated first otherwise in time the new implant will probably also fail.
