Implant or a Dental Bridge

Hallo

I lost my upper front tooth recently after it became infected. It had been previously capped but the cap became loose and the tooth could not be saved because of severe infection.

I am now using a plate for the gap but the plate is very loose and I would like a better replacement. I have read about Dental Bridges and Implants. Could you tell me which one would work better and a rough price guide.

Thank you for your post. We would have to see you for a consultation in order to give you specific advise and pricing. Generally speaking Conventional dental bridges involve shaving down the neighbouring teeth which is not a kind thing to do to them. The neighbouring teeth can lose vitality as a result of being shaved down and will need root canal filling if this happens.

Dental implants are generally more expensive than bridges to start with but as they have a longer lifespan, the cost of implants becomes cheaper than bridges in the long run.
