    Cool Knocked out front tooth

I am enquiring about single dental implants. About 5/6 years ago I knocked one of my two front top teeth so badly that it shattered the bone around the tooth, but the root was intact (according to my dentist). Since then I have always known that the tooth would fall out.

Well now it's got to the stage when I don't think it will be long. I would say it's extremely loose. The price at my local dentist is extremely high. I see from your website that you do single implants from £600. I would like to ask a couple of questions:

    1. How long does it take to do an implant? How long would I have to be without the tooth before the implant is made?

    2. Providing it's straight forward would the £600 be the total payable?

    3. How many times would I need to come to the surgery?

I look forward to hearing from you.
    Kind regards

    Wink Knocked out front tooth

    Thank you for your question.

The usual time span for an implant is as follows:

    1. Extraction of tooth and fitting a temporary denture immediately.

wait 6-8 weeks for soft tissue healing and clear-up of any infection.

    2. Implant placement +/- minor bone grafting if necessary.

wait 8-12 weeks depending on bone quality and implant stability.

    3. Crown placement to restore the implant.

So you will have a temporary denture right at the beginning and at no point will have a gap.

£600 is the cost of the implant alone. £1390-£1690 is the cost of the implant, abutment and crown. Cost of extraction is around £100-£150 and a temporary denture costs £250.

The number of times that you will need to come to the surgery is as follows:

    1. Consultation
    2. Planning and consent
    3. Implant placement
    4. Implant review and suture removal
    5. Change of healing cap if necessary
    6. Optional temporary crown in aesthetic cases
    7. Final Crown impression
    8. Final Crown fit
