I have seen three different dentists recently and been quoted three different prices for a single implant. All the dentists use different implant systems. Can you tell me which implant system is the best on the market?

There are hundreds of different implant systems available on the market. But there are only a handful of them that are thoroughly researched, well established and well documented.

There are hundreds of systems that are carbon copies of the more established famous European brands usually cheaply produced with very little research to support their use. Some of these copy implants are hybrids of different implant systems put together to avoid copyright infringement laws.

When deciding on which system to chose, one should take into account the strength of research and development behind that implant system. Straumann & Nobel Biocare are the two most widely used implant systems in the world and this is due to the fact that they have carried out vast research and development on their implant systems.

As cost of research and development is high, Straumann and Nobel Biocare implant systems cant compete with the carbon copy implants on price but offer implant systems of superior quality with higher success rates to patients.
