Dental Implants

Dental Implants

For people who have lost a tooth or multiple teeth, as a result of decay, gum disease, or an accident, we can provide dental implant treatment.

Dental implants are titanium metal rods or screws. These are fitted into the jawbone as a replacement for a missing tooth. The titanium screws can support one or more implant crowns.

As part of the process, we will carry out extensive examinations to ensure the jawbone is suitable for the treatment. These examinations are to check how much bone is still present in the jaw.

Same Day Teeth

The emergence of new technology means that many patients may qualify to receive same day teeth as an alternative to the traditional implantology, which usually takes several months to complete.

Patients who have undergone the procedure may feel slight discomfort at first but are then able to eat, drink, and speak normally without difficulty.

Dental implants can be used to support overdentures. The removable nature of this type of denture means it is extremely convenient to clean efficiently.

During this process, two to four dental implants are placed in the bone at the front of the mouth. Using this area of bone provides as much support as possible for the overdenture using either bar-retained or ball-retained methods.

The process can take from a few months to a year depending on individual circumstances.

Bone Grafting

Bone Grafting is often needed when there is not enough bone available to install an implant. This process is an ongoing issue for people who have had dentures.

During this procedure, the bone grafting material provides a stimulus for the existing bone to grow onto. Eventually, this provides an environment suitable for the placement of dental implants.

A similar treatment that adds bone to the upper jaw is a Sinus Lift. As part of this process, patients will undergo surgery to separate the maxillary sinus lining from the jaw by gently pushing the two tissues apart. Then bone graft material will be placed in and stitched up. After six to nine months the dental implant can be placed.

Patients can rest assured that where appropriate we are able to use SimPlant software before carrying out dental implant surgery. The technology accurately locates the best area to place dental implants.

Our implant dentistry uses advanced sterilisation techniques to ensure the cleanest and safest environment possible.

What is the dental implant procedure?

  1. Pearl Dental Clinic is one of few clinics in the UK that provide dental implant crowns using the iTero digital scanning system.

The iTero handheld wand takes a digital, 3D image of your implant abutment, preventing the need for traditional impressions which can cause some patients to gag. You can look at the iTero 3D image of your dental implant abutment on the screen in real-time. This image is then electronically sent to the lab.

The precise and detailed imaging of the iTero digital scans are impeccable. Therefore, these scans greatly improve the speed and the accuracy of the treatment.

  2. Optional review at the lab for shade selection in the case of anterior dental implants. 1-2 weeks later.
  3. Fitting of the final implant.

At Pearl Dental Clinic, you can spread the cost of dental treatment interest-free with our 0% dental finance plans. It usually takes only a few hours to arrange a finance plan.
