Tulisa Contostavlos speaks openly about her cosmetic surgery

Former X-Factor judge and N-Dubz singer, Tulisa Contostavlos, has openly admitted that she has made mistakes in the past with the amount of collagen fillers she has had in her lips and face. The star referred to herself as ‘looking like finding Nemo’ at one point in her career.

Tulisa recently appeared on ‘Good Morning Britain’ with the agenda of promoting her new single, however conversation quickly shifted to her previous cosmetic surgery work. Tulisa disclosed that she suffered an allergic reaction, following some of the dermal fillers she had administered in her face, which made the star look bloated and puffy.  Dermal fillers do dissipate after a few months so the singer’s face eventually returned to normal.

The singer admits that she does love her lips looking plumper, and says that this is something she will keep maintaining. Instead of fillers on the rest of her face, Tulisa now has a less intrusive procedure called collagen waves, which involves the use of radio waves that apply heat to the deeper layers of skin to tighten up the body’s own natural collagen and stimulate new growth. The treatment is also kind to the top layer of skin, therefore causing no damage.

Tulisa shocks fans with ‘unrecognisable’ selfie

Former X-Factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos has shocked fans with a picture posted online that looks nothing like her; the 27-year-old shared a recent selfie on Instagram showing a close-up of her face and it appeared very different to her previous public appearances. Fans were aware that the former N-Dubz singer had undergone treatment with lip and cheek fillers before now, but were surprised to see the dramatic change in her appearance.

Tulisa posted the picture, alongside a sun emoji, and fans were quickly taking to social media sites to question whether the singer has gone too far with cosmetic treatment. The picture shows Tulisa wearing obvious make-up and it seems that her lips may have been plumped up. Online followers seemed perplexed by the stars ongoing use of cosmetic treatment at such a young age, with some wondering whether Tulisa was insecure about her appearance and that’s why she changed it so drastically.

Tulisa has not mentioned whether she has had any more work done since she talked to Jonathan Ross back in 2014, when she appeared on his chat show to set the records straight about her appearance. She told the host that she likes to have her lips treated and calls it a ‘personal thing’ that makes her feel happy. However, she denied having any surgery at this point and said she would rather stick to ‘cosmetic enhancement’ instead of going ‘under-the-knife.’

Tulisa Contostavlos denies surgery but admits dermal fillers

Former X-Factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos has denied ever going under the knife to improve her looks but she has admitted that she had dermal filler injections to give her self-esteem a boost as she went through a difficult trial this year.

The 26-year-old singer has sparked many rumours in the last few months as she arrived for court looking swollen and misshapen. Media speculation was rife about her changing appearance but Tulisa has withheld any comment until now; she has told Grazia magazine that the reason for her altered features was a series of facial filler injections. In the interview, Tulisa said that she looked ‘really gaunt’ during the court case because of the stress and she added ‘I wanted to perk myself up a bit and I’d always wanted my lips done.’

The treatment didn’t quite go to plan though, and Tulisa suffered water retention, which led to swelling of the tissue in her cheeks. She told the magazine ‘The worst thing is that it would happen in the morning, so I would wake up like a blow fish when I was going to court. I’ve been having collagen waves to take them down. I haven’t had surgery though. If I had, I would just say.’

Tulisa hits back at claims of cosmetic surgery

Former X-Factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos has faced rumours about her appearance head on, telling the media that speculation about cosmetic surgery is not true; the 25-year-old apparently relies on make-up to improve her complexion and disguise the signs of aging.

Tulisa’s appearance has been questioned recently after she was pictured arriving for court with a noticeably different complexion and swollen areas around her mouth. She has denied going under the knife in the past but it has been hard for her to argue that her face has not changed dramatically since her N-Dubz days.

According to Neil Sean, of the Metro, Tulisa has denied that any cosmetic work has taken place and instead claims that her look is ‘all down to clever make-up.’

Celebrity make-up artist Mikey Phillips spoke to MailOnline and backed up Tulisa’s claims, saying; ‘How you contour your face can totally have a dramatic change to your face. Concealer can be used to lift and brighten and bronzer to shape and define.’ Referring to her plumper lips, Mikey added ‘Lip liner and lip plumping products could be responsible for the plumper pout but remember make-up is all smoke and mirrors.’

Fans question Tulisa’s new look

She’s had a testing few months and now former X-Factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos is trying to cheer herself up with a makeover, but fans are not convinced that make-up is the only thing that the 24-year-old has turned to.

After Tulisa posted some pictures of her new look, comments flooded in stating that she did not appear to be completely natural, with some posters stating that her lips and face shape looked to be completely different to how they appeared just a few days earlier – when Tulisa was photographed in relation to her recent drug charges.

The photos showed the TV judge wearing a lot of make-up, with lighter hair and a body-con dress that showed off her weight loss. Her cheeks appeared to be higher and more perfectly shaped, and Tulisa’s lips seemed to be fuller and more defined as she pouted for the camera. She added a post under the pictures, saying ‘Quick pose 4 @cathairine @russianlengths 2 flaunt my new locks woooooooooo. Buzzin with my new do.’

Whilst she didn’t confirm whether fillers or Botox had contributed to her new appearance, a source close to the singer said that she was hoping to start a new life in America, after ‘all this drama is over’, as she feels ‘trapped’ in the UK and filled with ‘bitter memories.’

X Factor judge in new advertising row

X Factor panellist Tulisa Contostavlos is courting controversy yet again over her brazen promoting antics, and this time it’s her new smile raising concerns among media watchdogs. The singer was fitted with a set of dental veneers in March, and has recently taken to Twitter to shamelessly advertise the services of dentist Dr David Bloom, who runs a practice in Watford, Hertfordshire.

Seemingly unperturbed by the similar furore that surrounded her when she was accused of plugging her perfume on the live X Factor shows, Tulisa spoke to the Radio Times about her veneers, admitting that she was getting a lot of free merchandise and services, even though she has the money to afford them. However, it’s her social networking that could really get her into trouble with the Office of Fair Trading, the 23-year-old publicised her treatment via Twitter back in March, mentioning the dental firm and dentist no less than four times, and the clinic even has a before and after picture of the X Factor judge on their website, with a quote from her saying ‘Thanks guys, I love them.’

The veneers are said to have cost £12,000, but rumour has it that no money changed hands, something that the OFT aren’t going to be happy with; celebrities aren’t allowed to endorse goods or services without making it clear how they were paid for. In another tweet several weeks after debuting the new look, Tulisa let everyone know how happy she was with her veneers, saying ‘Every1 keeps asking me about my new teeth & who did them, so here goes @drdavidbloom @senovadental, their [they’re] amazing so happy.’

Tulisa’s toothache from veneers

Producers of the TV talent show X Factor may be in talks to find a temporary replacement for judge Tulisa Contostavlos, as a bout of toothache could see her pull out of this weekends live show.

23-year-old Tulisa has had to cancel several work commitments over the past few weeks due to the pain from her new porcelain veneers. The £12,000 porcelain veneers were fitted during the summer, just after Tulisa was named as the fourth judge on the X Factor panel, but have been causing her agony in the last week or so. According to a source, the N-Dubz star was in too much pain to attend any of her scheduled work appointments, but was determined to power through and take her seat between Kelly Rowland and Louis Walsh on Saturday. ‘No dodgy tooth is going to keep here away.’ the source assured The Mirror, ‘She’d never want to miss the important stages – and she wouldn’t sit out an entire weekend of live shows.’

It’s been rumoured that Tulisa is anxious to avoid a behind-the-scenes confrontation by following in Kelly Rowland’s footsteps – the US judge called in sick last weekend, citing a cold and throat infection as her reasons for missing the show. It seems Tulisa is made of sterner stuff, the source added ‘She’ll be there on Saturday if she has to be wheeled out.’

Cosmetic dentistry ‘is now more accessible’

Cosmetic dentistry 'is now more accessible'More people are choosing to undergo cosmetic dentistry as a result of the procedures becoming more accessible to members of the public, it has been suggested.

Dr Pravesh Solanki from claimed the increasing popularity of the treatment may have emerged due to a reduction in prices.

The expert's comments were made after a high number of well known celebrities received cosmetic dentistry in a bid to improve their appearance and correct oral issues.

High profile figures including Kerry Katona, Tulisa Contostavlos, Cheryl Cole, Simon Cowell and Ronnie Wood have undergone the procedures to create a Hollywood smile.

Dr Solanki also suggested that the increased media attention to looking good and feeling better could have had a significant impact on the popularity of teeth whitening.

"Reality makeover shows are highlighting cosmetic dentistry procedures and the drop in price for these treatments has made them more accessible to everyone and not just celebrities," he added.  ADNFCR-2621-ID-800722747-ADNFCR
