Veneers ‘an option for those unhappy with teeth-whitening’

Veneers 'an option for those unhappy with teeth-whitening' Those searching for a Hollywood smile like the kind sported by Tom Cruise ought to consider professional teeth whitening, it has been suggested.

Writing for the Irish Times, Fiona Reddan stated that this is currently one of the most popular treatments available for people struggling to rid their smile of coffee and nicotine stains, including who have already tried to do so with specialist toothpastes.

However, she noted that veneers, thin layers of porcelain that go over the front of a tooth, could be a good option for anyone after a pearly white look.

Ms Reddan said: “The number of veneers used will depend on each individual, it is generally recommended that the front eight are done on the upper and lower teeth to give the best effect.”

Tooth whitening ‘improves attractiveness’

Tooth whitening 'improves attractiveness'Teeth whitening can brighten a smile and make people look more attractive, according to one expert.

Dr Marty Marcus of University Associates in Dentistry told Today’s Chicago Woman the procedure will brighten the appearance of teeth and disguise stains.

He explained more people have their teeth cosmetically enhanced during warmer months and suggested social occasions are the reason why.

“Whitening is … a way to make yourself as attractive as possible. It just augments the rest of your beauty, whereas if you didn’t have it done, it might detract from it,” the dental specialist said.

Individuals can still have their teeth enhanced if they have crowns or caps, although these may need to be altered to match the newly lightened originals, Dr Marcus commented.

Dr Susan Mathison of Catalyst Medical Centre in Fargo recently explained that an increasing number of over 40s were having their teeth professionally brightened in the hope of competing with younger jobseekers, the Grand Forks Herald reported.ADNFCR-2621-ID-19874458-ADNFCR
