Kim Kardashian debuts dramatic transformation

Compared to her appearance seven years ago, reality regular Kim Kardashian is virtually unrecognisable, with paler skin, a higher hair line, and altered cheek bones that completely changed the shape of her face. Although she has admitted to using Botox in the past, Kim has vowed that she would never have it done again and she flatly denies any surgical procedures – despite the fact she is 33-years-old and has less wrinkles now than in 2006.

Kim stepped out for a walk with her fiancé on Monday in New York and showed off an impressively flawless complexion. The mother-of-one has recently been spotted leaving a spa in Los Angeles with a clear mask applied to her face after undergoing beauty treatment, but she’s keeping tight lipped about whether this included facial injections.

After her experiment with Botox in 2009, Kim said she would not undergo the procedure again when she suffered an allergic reaction and ended up with severe bruising as a result of the injections. She told her family later ‘I’m never doing this again… at least not until I’m 40.’ However, she was later forced to deny rumours that she was still getting Botox injections whilst pregnant with her daughter North, in May this year a spokesperson for the star said ‘It’s absurd and NOT true!’

Renee Zellweger’s appearance surprises fans

Actress Renee Zellweger appeared at a fashion event in New York this week with a surprising new look; the 44-year-old was almost unrecognisable from her days as career-defining character Bridget Jones. Renee has recently slimmed down to a size 6 but that may not explain the change in her complexion, as she displayed more defined cheeks, a heavy brow line, and a completely smooth forehead.

Fans and photographers alike were quick to question whether the actress had been under the knife and one Twitter follower commented that she looked like she had been ‘hit with a shovel of Botox.’ No comment was forthcoming from the actress’s representatives but the alterations have been put down to a change in lifestyle, rather than any sort of cosmetic enhancement – although most fans remain sceptical about that claim.

Renee recently claimed that she has a much more relaxed outlook now that she has chosen to go behind the camera rather than appear in front of it; the star admitted that she was close to a breakdown after the end of her disastrous 128 day marriage to country singer Kenny Chesney in 2005, but has now found some relief from the pressures of acting, by turning to directing and producing instead.

New York surgeon offers free Botox treatment in exchange for a wife

A cosmetic surgeon looking for love has taken extreme steps to find his ideal woman; he is offering cash incentives and free Botox treatment to anyone who can help him with his predicament. The unnamed surgeon send an email to contacts he made at a business networking event, promising cash gifts to anyone willing to set him up with female friends, in the hopes that he will meet Miss Right.

The email was published on the blog of internet marketer Mark Ensign; it details the cash rewards, which start as $100 for a first date, $300 for a second date, and Botox worth $500 for a third date. The prizes improve if the surgeon gets along with this chosen lady, with Juvederm worth $900 offered for the fourth date, and even LASEK eye surgery worth £2,000 for a fifth outing. A disclaimer was added that the cash incentives were only valid if ‘hard dating objectives’ were met’.

The surgeon explains his actions by saying that he has not met the right woman to ‘fall in love with, marry, and start a family with’ and that he wants to have children before he gets too old. It seems he has already exhausted the many online options and has decided to turn to his business acquaintances to find him his perfect match before it’s too late for a family. He states that he is looking for a white college graduate aged between 28 and 34, a size 0 to 2 (US sizes) and who is keen to have children soon. He also added that he wants a lady who is ‘nice, normal, kind, altruistic, selfless and not bitchy materialistic, selfish.’

New York doctor markets Botox to card players

A cosmetic surgeon in New York is advertising a treatment he likes to refer to as ‘Pokertox’, aimed at reducing facial movement so that card players can hide their ‘tells’ and keep their emotions in check during games. Dr Jack Berdy first consults with the players to find out the unconscious signs they give off when they have a good or bad hand, therefore identifying the areas in need of treatment.

Dr Berdy explained the theory behind his idea to The Huffington Post, saying ‘Some people might get a card they like or don’t like and raise their eyebrows, if that’s the common reaction, we can put Botox in certain areas to minimize them.’

He went on to say that this could also help with disguising a poker hand by making it look like the player has a tell when they actually don’t – a technique designed to confuse and bluff other players to their advantage.

So far the treatment has not been particularly popular and Dr Berdy is still waiting for his first patient a week after the launch. Poker player Josh Hale says that this idea has come too late to benefit players of the modern game; ‘The game has moved on from bluffs, and is more analytical these days’, he said, adding that ‘Players might look at physical tells, but they are relying more on betting patterns and bet sizing.’

Kate Hudson suffers pain of impacted wisdom teeth

Wisdom teeth can take years to come through properly – if they do at all – and even the rich and famous of Hollywood are not immune to the problems if their wisdom teeth become troublesome; actress Kate Hudson has recently found out what it feels like to have an impacted wisdom tooth, and was forced to smile through her pain during a photo shoot in late October.

The mother-of-two, who is engaged to Muse frontman Matt Bellamy, has recently replace Demi Moore as the face of fashion brand Ann Taylor and was all set to pose for fashion photographer Norman Jean Roy in New York, for the retailers winter clothing line, when she ran into some dental trouble.

In a behind-the-scenes video Kate was seen looking typically flawless, but admitted to the cameras that she was actually having a painful problem with her wisdom teeth, telling fans ‘I had my first horrible wisdom teeth experience where I was just pulsating at the mouth with an impacted wisdom tooth.’

She managed to keep her chin up though and remained professional throughout, reassuring the team that she ‘still had a great time with everybody’ at the fashion shoot.

Botox injections live on the Today show

Daytime talk shows are well known for testing skin care routines and beauty products for the audience – the majority of whom are female, but US TV programme Today has taken the next step and demonstrated several cosmetic procedures, including Botox, live on air.

In a show entitled ‘Needles, Knives, or Nothing’ hosts Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb underwent several beauty treatments, along with some members of the public who had volunteered to be guinea pigs. Kathie Lee tried a new form of eyebrow lifting, which involved applying deep heat to her forehead as an alternative to Botox injections, and Hoda had a laser hair removal treatment on her arms.

Over at the Juva Skin and Laser Center in New York, live footage was streamed showing a patient undergoing a Cellulaze procedure, which scrapes the fat cells out of the thighs; she told the camera crew she was feeling ‘pretty numb’. Another patient received Scelotherapy vein removal, while a third was shown getting Botox for the wrinkles around her eyes. It’s thought that some squeamish viewers had to look away, but Kathie Lee was determined not to miss a thing, telling her co-host ‘No, I want to see every bit of it!’ Hoda didn’t seem as enthusiastic, adding ‘We need wine’, as the pair watched the procedures take place.

Lindsay Lohan overdoes facial injections again

She might only be twenty-five, but Lindsay Lohan is using Botox and dermal fillers at a level more suited to someone twice her age. The troubled starlet recently attended an audition for a part in TV movie Liz and Dick, which tells the tale of Hollywood lovers Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, in an effort to rebuild her ailing career. However, an insider told OK! USA that she almost lost the role as soon as she stepped into the studio and showed her overly-enhanced face to the casting directors.

An associate of Lindsay’s told the online magazine that she had undergone extensive treatment before flying to New York to meet with the Lifetime executives, and that the treatment had seriously distorted her face. The insider said ‘[Lindsay] was overdone with fillers, Botox and God knows what else. Word is that she had so many shots, she went way overboard and they took one look at her – they were repulsed and shocked.’

They went on to say that a spokesperson for the former child star blamed the air pressure during the flight for Lindsay’s strange appearance, saying that she ‘was not told by doctors that she wasn’t allowed to fly immediately afterward – and, well, it was a catastrophe. In the course of Lindsay’s five-hour flight the change in air pressure obviously did much damage and caused unexpected side effects.’

Lindsay Lohan steps out in NY with ‘pillowy’ face

Recent news reports have shown Lindsay Lohan looking much older than her twenty-five years, and the Mean Girls star has done little to defy her critics by showing off a puffy, ‘pillowy’ face when she was seen out and about in New York this week. Even in her mid-twenties, Lindsay is thought to be a big fan of cosmetic enhancements, with industry insiders suggesting that she has had Botox, lip injections and dermal fillers, in an effort to fight the signs of aging.

Unfortunately for the young actress, she doesn’t know when to stop, and her puffed-up face has taken on the appearance of a much older person, who has overdone it with skin fillers. Dermal fillers are used to replenish moisture in the collagen layer of the skin, and when used correctly they can make the face look healthy and youthful. Lindsay joins Madonna and Kylie Minogue on a long list of celebrities who don’t seem to understand moderation, when it comes to facial injections.

Despite the negative press surrounding her image, Lindsay spoke on US television about moving forward with her career and putting her past behind her; ‘I think that it’s gonna take time,’ she admitted, ‘Because people can say things all they want, but I think I still need to go through the process of proving myself.’

‘Botox gel’ shows promising early results

'Botox gel' shows promising early resultsA new gel that works in a similar way to Botox injections could soon be offered to people seeking anti-wrinkle treatments.

Researchers have revealed that two preliminary studies of the product, which contains botulinum toxin type A like conventional Botox, produced encouraging results.

Dr Michael Kane, a New York-based plastic surgeon who carried out the research, said the gel helped to reduce moderate to severe crow's feet around the eyes of patients.

The expert told CBS News: "The gel contains botulinum toxin type A and a peptide carrier, which is what helps the botulinum toxin gel penetrate the skin."

Dr Kane said the product demonstrated "good effectiveness" in both studies, which involved 270 participants.

The findings will be formally presented at the annual conference of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons this weekend.

As well as fighting wrinkles, Botox has been touted as a potential treatment for medical conditions such as cerebral palsy and migraines.ADNFCR-2621-ID-800737736-ADNFCR
