Kelly Ripa takes son for a trip to the orthodontist in New York

American TV presenter Kelly Ripa was pictured in a jovial mood after taking her son to the dentist for a check-up; the mother-of-three was photographed outside an orthodontic clinic in New York with her youngest child, looking relaxed and happy.

The 44-year-old chat show host shared a laugh with 11-year-old Joaquin as the pair left the clinic in casual winter outfits, huddling together to keep out the cold.

Later on in the day, Kelly shared a picture of the trip on her Instagram account, showing her son in the dentist’s chair. The photograph showed Joaquin smiling while wearing red protective glasses and a cheek retractor so that the dentist could see his teeth clearly; the youngster did not seem to be anxious about the dental check-up as he gave the thumbs up to the camera. The dentist is also seen in the corner of the picture wearing a surgical mask for the treatment. Although it is unclear exactly what treatment was taking place, Kelly also added the caption ‘It’s the mysterious Dr. Sherman and equally intriguing Joaquin attempting to have a conversation about braces’ suggesting that her son is about to start orthodontic work

Kelly Ripa talks candidly about Botox use

With six million Americans waking up to her face every morning on their television screens, it’s no wonder presenter Kelly Ripa wants to look her best. At 42, she admits to having a little bit of help with her appearance and discusses her love of Botox with Elle Magazine. Sharing her beauty habits in the February issue of the magazine, Kelly says that she needs the anti-wrinkle injections regularly to keep her skin smooth and fresh.

When asked about the secret to her youthful appearance, Kelly admitted that it wasn’t natural, saying ‘It’s the Botox. Every seven months or so my eyelid skin rests on my eyelashes, so I feel like [the Botox] makes my makeup artist’s life easier, and makes my eyes look a little more open on TV, which is where I happen to work right now.’

Kelly also has the toxin injected into her armpits to prevent excess sweating that might be visible onscreen. Unlike other celebrities who tend to keep cosmetic treatment a secret, the mother-of-three is not shy about her beauty regime and has always been an advocate of learning to cope with ones imperfections, adding that ‘I feel like as long as you take ownership over your own flaws, it doesn’t hurt if someone else points them out.’

TV presenter Kelly Ripa admits that Botox is the secret to her youthful complexion

American viewers will recognise Kelly Ripa from daytime talk show Live with Kelly, but many of them may be surprised to learn that the mother-of-three is actually in her forties and she has been speaking to In Touch magazine about how she maintains her youthful appearance. Forty-one year old Kelly admitted that a combination of exercise, diet, and regular Botox injections was the secret to her success.

‘I work out every day.’ The presenter said, ‘I don’t overeat. I try to drink water, but I prefer wine, and when all else fails, I get Botox injected right here, right into my forehead as much as possible!’ Celebrity dermatologist Dr Frederick Brandt provides Kelly with her injections whenever her children start to wonder if she’s mad with them because her expressions begin to form again. ‘It’s when my kids start asking me if I’m mad at them, and I say, ‘Why do you think I’m mad at you?’ They say it’s because I’m frowning. I go, ‘Oh no! I am? I’ll be right back!’

Although Kelly would probably be happy keep going back for more and more, Dr Brandt is adamant that the results should be as subtle as possible, making sure that he can ‘keep Kelly looking like Kelly.’ The TV presenter jokingly refers to Dr Brandt as her ‘real husband’ despite being married to Mark Consuelos since 1996.
