More Indian men ‘are opting for Botox treatment’

More Indian men 'are opting for Botox treatment'Higher numbers of image-conscious men in India are opting for Botox treatment in a bid to improve their complexions.

According to the Times of India, Bhubaneswar males are following suit from their counterparts in Mumbai and Delhi by selecting the anti-wrinkle injection.

In addition to the non-surgical procedure, increasing numbers of men are seeking liposuction, facelifts and laser hair removal to reverse the signs of ageing.

Cosmetic surgeon A K Rout claimed that the number of male patients had risen significantly in the past two years, when 90 per cent of treatments were performed on women.

"Both men and women are required to look presentable and well turned-out to get ahead in the competitive world," Mr Rout added.

The increase in the number of males receiving cosmetic treatment could come as a result of high numbers of celebrities selecting Botox to look younger.

Simon Cowell and John Barrowman are among the high-profile figures who have received the anti-wrinkle injection to improve their appearance.ADNFCR-2621-ID-800627169-ADNFCR

Botox ‘now a popular procedure among men’

Botox 'now a popular procedure among men'The number of men receiving Botox to maintain a youthful complexion is on the increase, statistics have shown.

Research from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) the anti-wrinkle procedure was the most popular form of cosmetic treatment in 2010.

The figures showed that 337,000 injections were given to men last year in a bid to prevent the development of wrinkles.

With the statistics revealing a nine per cent increase from 2009, experts have claimed the rise in popularity suggests men are more image-conscious than previously.

Former president of the ASPS Dr James Wells told the Daily Breeze: "They have desires for an active lifestyle and they want to look good.

"They will take advantage to improve an appearance or lifestyle."

An increase in the number of male celebrities admitting they use the procedure to stay young could be another reason for the rise in popularity.

X Factor judge Simon Cowell and singer and actor John Barrowman are among the famous men who use the treatment to ensure they look young. ADNFCR-2621-ID-800552069-ADNFCR

Has Richard Hammond had Botox?

Has Richard Hammond had Botox?Presenter Richard Hammond's smooth complexion could be due to Botox, reports have suggested.

The 41-year-old Top Gear presenter was photographed looking youthful at an awards ceremony in London.

Hammond, who is the father of two children, appeared to have very few lines around his eyes – which has led the Daily Mail to suggest he has opted for the non-surgical procedure.

Dr Roberto Viel from the London Centre for Aesthetic Surgery commented that the bags under Hammond's eyes appear significantly reduced when compared to old pictures.

He said: "I would also say that the wrinkles around the eyes have lessened, indicating he could have also had Botox to smooth out crow's feet."

A number of other celebrity men have admitted to undergoing Botox treatments, including Simon Cowell and John Barrowman.

Cowell reportedly thinks so highly of the treatment that he purchased Botox gift vouchers for his fellow X Factor judges at Christmas last year.ADNFCR-2621-ID-800498894-ADNFCR
