Invisalign braces recommended for realigning teeth

15-12-2010
Wed

Invisalign braces have been recommended for being inconspicuous.Invisalign braces could be an ideal option for people who find that their teeth are beginning to grow out of line when they reach adulthood.

American Health and Beauty explained that they are created by a computer so they fit the patient's teeth exactly and then apply the right amount of pressure to move them gently.

When the teeth sit comfortably within that mould, a new one is fitted to then move them a little bit more until they are completely straight.

"Invisalign braces are an inconspicuous option," the publication commented.

Last month, Justin Fenner, writing for the Into the Gloss section of Styleite, said that anyone who opts for Invisalign braces to straighten their teeth must wear them as recommended by their dentist in order to get the best results

He pointed out that people who take them out during the day and only put them back in to sleep are unlikely to achieve straighter teeth because the braces do not have time to work.

Invisalign braces ‘could be better for children and teenagers’

Invisalign braces may be better for youngsters than metal ones.Opting for Invisalign braces for your children could be a better option than getting the fitted with traditional metal ones.

This is according to the health and fitness section of Lon’s Article Directory, which said there are a number of different options available for when youngsters’ teeth do not grow in line as they should.

“In case your teenager is worried about looking ‘uncool’ in front of their friends and peers, you may want to consider orthodontic options such as lingual braces or Invisalign,” the anonymous author commented.

However, it pointed out that while lingual braces could cut the tongue, the Invisalign option will be less painful, less obtrusive and not as expensive.

Parents could consider braces for their children when they are between 11 and 15 years old, the article concluded.

Last month, DentistryIQ.com said Invisalign braces are ideal for patients who do not want their orthodontic treatment to be on their mind all day every day.

Invisalign braces ‘will work without interfering with your life’

Invisalign braces will not be on your mind all day every day.Invisalign braces have been recommended as the ideal way to transform anyone’s smile without interfering too much in their everyday lives.

DentistryIQ.com stated that the system of providing patients with clear aligners that are changed every two weeks is much better than having to have traditional braces fitted.

Invisalign gently moves your teeth into position, all the while offering you maximum discretion,” the article commented.

The fact that Invisalign braces allow the wearer to eat, drink and brush their teeth was also highlighted as a plus point.

Should patients being treated in this way wish to add “the wow factor”, they could also consider having teeth whitening treatment after their smile has been realigned, DentistryIQ.com suggested.

At the recent British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry conference, 22 per cent of dentists said they are now using Invisalign braces to complement existing orthodontic treatments for patients.

This was put down to a growing trend for non-invasive procedures among Britons.

Invisalign braces are popular with dentists.Dentists have said they are seeing increasing numbers of patients coming in for Invisalign braces in order to correct their smiles non-invasively.

At the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry conference being held in London this week, healthcare practitioners said they are now performing 50 per cent fewer “extensive smile makeovers” than was the case in 2008.

Instead, people are opting to alter their own teeth subtly, with invisible braces like Invisalign proving especially popular.

Indeed, 22 per cent of dentists said they are now using the brand to complement existing orthodontic treatments for patients.

Last month, Invisalign announced it will soon be launching its G3 range, which features new aligners and a precision cuts option. It hopes this will improve treatment for both patients undergoing cosmetic dentistry and their dentists.

Myleene Klass is among the celebrities to have recently revealed she wears invisible braces to correct her slightly out-of-line teeth.

Writer lauds benefits of invisible braces after six-week treatment

Invisible braces have helped a writer to perfect her smile. A writer has spoken of her positive experience with invisible braces after undergoing a six-week treatment.

Connie Allfrey, 29, told the London Evening Standard she was advised to have cosmetic dentistry after being told that one of her incisors was growing out of line.

She went for Invisalign braces after her dental assistant told her they are “nice and discreet”, unlike fitted metal versions.

After wearing them for everything except eating, Ms Allfrey said she has got an almost perfect smile again.

“Six weeks later my tooth is back in line and I’m only wearing the brace at night,” she explained.

However, the writer admitted that she had an embarrassing incident at work after accidentally leaving her invisible braces on her desk, resulting in her setting off the burglar alarm as she went back to retrieve them after-hours.

Myleene Klass is one of a growing number of older brace-wearers, something she recently revealed live on This Morning.

Invisalign braces to get even better thanks to new technology

Invisalign braces are to get some new features.Anyone who needs to get Invisalign braces next year may be pleased to know that they are to become even better thanks to new developments in technology.

The company has announced that its G3 range, set to be launched internationally in 2011, will feature new aligners and a precision cuts option, as well as the ability to treat bicuspids, lower anteriors and upper anteriors.

It is thought that the new adaptations will make it easier for Class II and Class III patients – as well as those performing cosmetic dentistry – by increasing the predictability of tooth movement.

Sheila Tan, spokesperson for the company that creates Invisalign, said: “Invisalign G3 represents a tremendous leap forward in innovation and demonstrates how we leverage our technology to deliver the clinical outcomes doctors expect.”

Earlier this month, it was revealed that Invisalign had teamed up with Twilight’s Booboo Stewart to raise thousands of dollars for the charity America’s Toothfairy.

Invisalign and Twilight have joined forces to help America's Toothfairy.Thousands of pounds was raised for charity at the recent Teen Choice Awards thanks to Invisalign and one of the stars of Twilight, it has been revealed.

Booboo Stewart – who plays Seth Clearwater in Eclipse – and his sister Fivel were asked by Invisalign to position themselves on the red carpet for the special event on Sunday (August 8th 2010).

For every celebrity they managed to pull aside and capture a smiling photo of, the company promised to donate $1,000 to America’s Toothfairy.

At the end of the night, thanks to participation from Alex Meraz and Justin Chon among others, they had raised a huge $50,000.

To celebrate the achievement, Invisalign also pledged five complimentary treatments for disadvantaged youths in the Los Angeles area.

Invisalign is a great alternative to traditional braces and involves using barely noticeable aligners that are individually manufactured for the patient’s own teeth.

They are changed every two weeks and the teeth will gradually move into the desired position.

Invisalign competition for US teens

03-08-2010
Tue

A dentist in America is offering free Invisalign braces to the winner of a competition. Invisalign aligners are a prize in a contest offered by a US dentist.

Teenage competitors have been asked to submit a video or essay explaining why they feel they need the invisible braces and how they would improve their life.

The entries will later be used for marketing by the dental surgery, which is also holding an open day later this month to highlight the benefits of Invisalign braces.

Paula Zimmerman of Grove City Family Dentistry in Ohio said it was a “very special opportunity” for local youngsters.

“The Invisalign Teen Open House and contest will encourage teens to share their story with us and allow us to show how effective the Invisalign braces are for a teen’s lifestyle,” she added.

Young people aged between 13 and 19 are eligible for the competition and will also be given a chance to use computer technology to see how their teeth will look when the cosmetic dentistry is complete.

Over one million patients have already tried Invisalign or Invisalign Teen braces. ADNFCR-2621-ID-800011193-ADNFCR

Invisible braces for Myleene KlassTV presenter and musician Myleene Klass has revealed that she wears invisible braces.

While filming a segment for This Morning, which she hosts on Fridays, the 32-year-old mother of one pretended to choke on some food and announced that she had the aligners, before opening her mouth wide and showing them off.

The Daily Mail reported that someone close to the star had confirmed she was fitted with the cosmetic dentistry equipment a few months ago to improve her smile.

“It is supposed to be invisible as it is fitted behind her teeth,” the source said.

She is thought to be wearing lingual braces, the newspaper has commented, which are metal braces put behind the teeth instead of in front, so they cannot be seen.

The former Hear’Say singer recently told the Sun that inner confidence was the most important thing in life, adding that ironing out everyone’s “little flaws and the quirks” makes people boring.ADNFCR-2621-ID-19916505-ADNFCR

Invisalign ‘could boost confidence’

Invisible braces might help Londoners to develop their careers, as employers confess to being biased towards beautiful smiles.Invisalign
invisible braces could help people move up the career ladder by improving their confidence, said one beauty coach, as some bosses admit they would be reluctant to hire people with less-than-perfect smiles.

Lina Cameron warned that being self-conscious about teeth could make someone seem aloof or stand-offish.

“When smiles are bright and straight people appear approachable and friendly,” she added.

The expert said she advises her clients to try invisible braces to perfect their “natural assets” and increase their self-confidence.

Invisalign braces move teeth gradually by using clear replaceable aligners that are easily removed.

Over a quarter of human resources managers recently confessed they might not hire someone with bad teeth, according to a survey by Opinion Matters.

People working in the media, or in marketing or sales put more importance on their looks, as nearly 40 per cent told Invisalign that having an unappealing grin could interfere with job opportunities.

However, other careers are affected too, with 30 per cent of all Londoners revealing they always notice the smiles and teeth of those they meet at interviews and almost one-third think that having straight teeth makes them more confident at work.ADNFCR-2621-ID-19911089-ADNFCR
