Cosmetic dentistry news: Holly Willoughby ‘has best celebrity smile’

Cosmetic dentistry news: Holly Willoughby 'has best celebrity smile'People contemplating getting London cosmetic dentistry could be interested to know TV presenter Holly Willoughby's smile has been named the best in show business.

The This Morning host received a quarter of the votes as part of the survey conducted by the British Dental Health Foundation (BDHF), reports.

Results also revealed that 18 per cent of people voted stunning model and TV personality Kelly Brook's smile the most attractive, awarding her second place.

Both Prince William and footballer David Beckham topped the poll for men, receiving 11 per cent of the vote each.

However, the Duke of Cambridgeshire's younger brother Harry came in last place with only three per cent of the vote.

Chief Executive of the BDHF Dr Nigel Carter said: "The growing trend towards cosmetic dentistry may be a result of the way celebrities present themselves, but we must not forget the basics of good oral hygiene."

Dental Health Magazine recently named a number of celebrities who had undergone cosmetic dentistry to perfect their Hollywood smiles.

Zac Efron, Kate Beckinsale and Hilary Duff were among those who owe their gleaming teeth to the procedures.ADNFCR-2621-ID-800531418-ADNFCR

Celebrities ‘maintain Hollywood smiles with cosmetic dentistry’

Celebrities 'maintain Hollywood smiles with cosmetic dentistry'An increase in the popularity of cosmetic dentistry could be due to the high number of celebrities opting for the treatment.

Singers and actors with dazzling white teeth seem to be encouraging regular people to aspire for the same thing, Dental Health Magazine suggested.

While various celebrities will pay thousands of pounds to maintain their perfect smiles, experts have revealed there are cheaper options that could have the same effect.

Cheryl Cole, who has recently been announced as a judge on the American version of The X Factor, was transformed after receiving dental veneers and teeth whitening in the early stages of her career.

Other celebrities who have sought cosmetic dentistry include singer Hilary Duff and Cole's fellow X Factor judge Simon Cowell.

Meanwhile, the General Dental Council has urged the government to take action to create tougher controls for cosmetic dental procedures such as teeth whitening and ensure they can only be conducted in a safe and hygienic environment.ADNFCR-2621-ID-800527209-ADNFCR

Mishap on night out leaves usher in need of cosmetic dentistry

Cosmetic dentistry saved an usher's blushes.A man who was due to be an usher at his best friend’s wedding was left needing cosmetic surgery after a misadventure during a night out.

Jonathan Bourne told that he had been taking great care with his appearance in the run-up to the ceremony because he wanted to look good for the event.

However, 24 hours before the big day, Mr Bourne went out in his native Devon – and awoke the next morning without one of his front teeth.

Although he said he has no idea how it happened, the would-be usher quickly rang around and managed to get an appointment to have cosmetic dentistry.

Luckily, Mr Bourne got the tooth fixed and said he was able to “have a fantastic day – and I was able to smile in all the photos!”

Last month, it was revealed that Hilary Duff also needed cosmetic dentistry before her wedding, as she chipped a tooth hours before she was supposed to take her vows.

Hilary Duff: I needed cosmetic dentistry on my wedding day

Cosmetic dentistry mended Hilary Duff's tooth before her wedding. Actress Hilary Duff has revealed she had to have cosmetic dentistry on her wedding day because she managed to chip a tooth before the ceremony.

The Lizzie McGuire star, 22, married ice hockey player Mike Comrie on Saturday (August 14th 2010), but one of her veneers broke hours before she was due to walk down the aisle.

“My wedding planner snuck me out to the dentist! Thank goodness it was fixed,” she told OK! magazine.

Duff was understandably pleased to have tracked down someone to perform cosmetic dentistry so quickly, as she may otherwise have been forced to digitally enhance her wedding photos!

Earlier this month, dentist Dr Philip Friel told the Scottish Daily Record simple cosmetic dentistry can quickly and easily fix chipped teeth, whether they are real or veneers.

He said an accident of this kind need not be the end of the world thanks to today’s techniques.
