Kim Kardashian makes emergency call to dentist after chipping tooth

Tue

Always the centre of attention, Kim Kardashian is not one to let a little thing like a chipped tooth get in the way of her addiction to social media, as the 35-year-old proved this weekend as she posted a picture of herself on Snapchat getting emergency dental treatment.

The Keeping Up With The Kardashian’s star joked that she had to call 911 after she was on her way to Vegas and she chipped her front tooth, leading to an emergency trip to the dentist to get it fixed. Instead of calling in the paramedics, Kim decided instead to enlist the help of Dr Kevin Sands, Beverly Hills dentist to the stars, to help fix her tooth before a public appearance in Las Vegas, where Kim will be hosting at a nightclub for the next week.

The reality star posted a picture of herself in the dentist’s chair with Dr Sands behind her, she can be seen wearing a paper bib but there was no sign of the actual damage to the tooth. She didn’t post any updates later on but she was spotted out and about with flawless teeth, so we can assume the damage was successfully repaired.

Charlie Sheen debuts new teeth

Mon

There’s no denying Charlie Sheen has had rough time of it in the past year or so – mostly of his own doing – but things are looking up for the troubled actor, and he’s got the smile to prove it. The 46-year-olds brand new teeth were on show today, after he posted a picture of himself and his dentist, Dr Kevin Sands, on his web page.

Just a few months back, Charlie was seen around Hollywood looking dishevelled, with wrinkly skin, badly dyed hair, and a decaying smile, complete with gold crowns – something which had previously been blamed on his substance abuse. The Two and a Half Men star also shocked his fans by indulging in drink and drugs, as well as keeping some strange company, and taking part in ill-advised television interviews, where he maintained that he was ‘winning’, rather than unravelling speedily in front of the world’s media. Now, it seems, he’s a changed man; his hair is much improved, his demeanour is calmer, and he described his experience in the dentist’s chair as ‘brilliant’. Dropping hints about his upcoming jobs, the actor plugged his treatment on his website, saying ‘today spent w/brilliant cosmetic dentist Dr Kevin Sands! The grill is now perfect for Fiat, DirectTV & Anger Management! Smile World!’

Charlie’s new sitcom Anger Management has been picked up by FX, and is based loosely on the 2003 movie of the same name.

Could Biodentine be a breakthrough in emergency dentistry? Professionals in the oral healthcare industry have hailed a new product which could have significant advantages in emergency dentistry.

Biodentine was launched by Septodont last month and has been praised as "the ultimate dentine substitute" by top dentists, Dentistry.co.uk reports.

Dentine is the calcified tissue that rests beneath the enamel of the teeth and endodontist Dr Julian Webber said the substitute could have multiple applications wherever the natural substance is damaged.

"With its improved handling ability and quick setting time, Biodentine offers considerable advantages over other similar materials. I cannot recommend it more highly," he commented.

Biodentine is the first all-in-one bioactive material that has been created for cosmetic and emergency dentistry.

Earlier this month, Dr Kevin Sands praised dental implants as being a significant breakthrough in dental technology.

He said a smile as good as that of any A-lister is now achievable thanks to implants and other cosmetic dentistry.

A dentist in the US has praised dental implants and veneers.A dentist to the stars has been speaking of his delight that technological advancements have allowed more people to benefit from cosmetic dentistry.

Dr Kevin Sands, who treats a number of celebrities in Beverly Hills and has even appeared on television, said patients can now get a complete smile makeover as effective as any A-lister's.

He particularly highlighted dental implants and dental veneers as tools that can "provide a lasting and dazzling smile".

"People that have received cosmetic dental procedures agree that a new smile can transform your life and give you the confidence and smile of a celebrity," Dr Sands commented.

Earlier this month, it was revealed by a clinic in Brighton that more Britons than ever are having dental implants.

Figures were found to have tripled since 2008, suggesting patients want to go for treatments that will benefit them in the long term, rather than opting for short-term measures.
