Michael Buble undergoes emergency dental work before concert

Fri

Michael Buble has taken an emergency trip to the dentist to get his dental crown replaced just hours before he was due to take to the stage at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester, New Hampshire. The concert was set to take place on July 11TH and the singer was rushed to the dentist to get some repair work done after dislodging a crown whilst trying to open a tomato ketchup packet with his teeth.

Buble was lucky enough to find a dentist in the area that could help and Dr David Bloom cleared his schedule to treat the singer at short notice. As a thank-you to Dr Bloom and his staff, Buble posed for pictures with the team and provided them with front row tickets to his concert that night.

Dr Bloom called the evening entertainment ‘interesting’ after Michael stopped singing and explained the situation to the fans, even pointing out the dental team that saved the day. Dr Bloom said the singer ‘stopped the show and he said ‘just want to tell you what happened today,’ and he told everybody what happened. He said ‘this guy right down here took care of me.’ He added ‘It made for a very interesting Friday.’

The Saturday’s singer thanks dentist for emergency treatment

Tue

Girl group member Una Healy is no stranger to publicity, she’s part of one of the biggest girl-bands in Britain at the moment – The Saturday’s, and she recently announced that she was expecting her first child with Rugby player boyfriend Ben Foden, but she had to keep her winning smile out of the limelight for a few hours on Sunday, after she chipped one of her front teeth.

The 29-year-old was quick to call on her celebrity contacts for assistance when she knocked out piece of her tooth, enlisting the help of dentist-to-the-stars, Dr David Bloom. Dr Bloom has hit the tabloids in the past few months, when he was named as the surgeon behind X-Factor judge Tulisa’s new veneers, and he boasts several other big name clients. Like her fellow celeb, Una took to Twitter to thank the dentist, and she wasn’t afraid to mention his name outright – despite the hot water Tulisa found herself in for doing something similar.

‘Oh no, just knocked out a chip from my tooth filling!’ The Irish singer tweeted on Sunday night, before updating her fans just fourteen hours later, stating that the damage had been repaired; ‘Yay my tooth is all fixed up thanks for drdavidbloom.’ Dr Bloom might find a lot more business coming his way, thanks to the free advertising from his famous friends.

X Factor judge in new advertising row

Mon

X Factor panellist Tulisa Contostavlos is courting controversy yet again over her brazen promoting antics, and this time it’s her new smile raising concerns among media watchdogs. The singer was fitted with a set of dental veneers in March, and has recently taken to Twitter to shamelessly advertise the services of dentist Dr David Bloom, who runs a practice in Watford, Hertfordshire.

Seemingly unperturbed by the similar furore that surrounded her when she was accused of plugging her perfume on the live X Factor shows, Tulisa spoke to the Radio Times about her veneers, admitting that she was getting a lot of free merchandise and services, even though she has the money to afford them. However, it’s her social networking that could really get her into trouble with the Office of Fair Trading, the 23-year-old publicised her treatment via Twitter back in March, mentioning the dental firm and dentist no less than four times, and the clinic even has a before and after picture of the X Factor judge on their website, with a quote from her saying ‘Thanks guys, I love them.’

The veneers are said to have cost £12,000, but rumour has it that no money changed hands, something that the OFT aren’t going to be happy with; celebrities aren’t allowed to endorse goods or services without making it clear how they were paid for. In another tweet several weeks after debuting the new look, Tulisa let everyone know how happy she was with her veneers, saying ‘Every1 keeps asking me about my new teeth & who did them, so here goes @drdavidbloom @senovadental, their [they’re] amazing so happy.’
