Claudia Winkleman’s Botox ordeal

Mon

Strictly Come Dancing host, Claudia Winkleman, has spoken out about her ordeal with Botox. The 44-year-old star has openly admitted that really struggles to watch clips of herself on screen, to the point where sometimes she is ‘physically sick’. In an attempt to abate these strong feelings, she decided to try Botox injections to tackle her insecurities. The results ended up being less than what she had hoped for.

In an interview with The Sun newspaper she divulged, “I had a go at Botox and I looked weird. I’m not even going to show you what’s under my fringe because then you’ll be physically sick on me. I try and be honest about it. I tried it, didn’t like it. I looked alarmed, and if there’s anything that I am it’s not alarmed.” Botox affects people differently, with some people, such as Claudia, having reactions to the treatment.

Despite her negative experience, Claudia has not ruled out trying Botox again in the future, and acknowledges that feelings can change over time. She told The Sun, “I’m not going to say never again. I might wake up in two years’ time, find a small hand-mirror, scream the house down and run.” However, for now, the star is happy to stick with her signature fringe and dramatic black eyeliner.

Zoe Ball talks aging and Botox

Tue

TV presenter Zoe Ball spoke to The Mirror earlier this week about her anti-aging techniques, and even admitted to having Botox injections in her forehead – despite the fact she has a fringe that covers it. The 41-year-old said she first underwent treatment for frown lines two years ago, when she found herself in the limelight as a contestant on BBC show Strictly Come Dancing.

‘I had Botox in my forehead,’ She told the paper, ‘but it moves again now. I’ve had a little bit more done in the crease of my nose, but I can still move my face.’

Although she was happy with the results, Zoe was not too keen on the idea of having it performed on a regular basis, preferring to age somewhat gracefully. The mother of two admitted that she didn’t like to imagine the toxins being injected into her face, and complained that ‘it wears off quite quickly.’

The former BBC Radio 1 presenter also opened up about her DJ husband Norman Cook, saying that he was working hard as a house-husband while she finished up the Strictly season by presenting spin-off show It Takes Two, in place of Claudia Winkleman. Zoe said he was behaving like ‘a real gentleman’, calling him ‘wonderful’ and saying that the children were ‘so much happier’ having at least one parent at home.
