Pop singer Claire Richards has been back in the public eye over the past few weeks after reuniting with her former band Steps and taking part in Celebrity Big Brother, and it seems that all the attention has got the mother-of-two sweating, so she has decided to do something about it. Claire underwent Botox injections into her armpits whilst being filmed for a reality show, to try and freeze the muscles that were producing excess sweat.
The Sky Living show Stitch Me, Lift Me, Tuck Me, filmed the pop star getting the injections in an effort to make herself feel more confident on stage. Although the needles used for Botox treatment are very small, the treatment can sometimes still be painful and Claire admitted that it ‘really hurt’.
She spoke to the Daily Mirror later, saying that she was nervous about the procedure because of rumours she had heard about the after effects, she said ‘Someone told me once that if you had Botox under your arms it just made the sweat come out somewhere else but Dr Khan allayed my fears.’ Fortunately, the procedure went without a hitch but Claire still complained of some discomfort, adding ‘I have to admit, it really hurt and I was trying not to pull too many faces… what a glamorous life we celebs have. But now I’m going to be glowing, not sweating.’
