A mother in the US has performed teeth whitening on her children as part of the TLC reality TV show Toddlers & Tiaras.

Hollywood Life blogger Chloe noted that the programme depicted mother Lori applying teeth whitening gels to her children's teeth in order to make them whiter ahead of a beauty pageant.

She wrote: "This may sounds a bit extreme but I don't think Lori bleaching her daughter Alaska, 9, and son Braxton's, 5, teeth is okay."

The reporter went on to note that she also made her children dye their eyebrows.

Meanwhile, a mother who gave her eight-year-old daughter Botox treatments ahead of a children's beauty pageant has said she is now beginning to understand that it is not acceptable.

After meeting with the Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services, Sheena Upton admitted the error of her ways, but she will still be under investigation by the authority for the next six months.
