Brazil football star has change of heart about dental treatment
Brazilian footballer Ronaldinho has insisted for years that his unique dental condition makes him recognisable and he would not want to change it, but now it appears that the international star has decided that the time has come to do something about his crooked teeth and he has begun dental treatment to improve their appearance. The 33-year-old has started the process of getting his teeth straightened out and then shifted along the jaw line so that top and bottom teeth are in better alignment with each other.
According to a Brazilian surgeon, the footballer spent less than an hour in the chair to have the first procedure carried out – which involved surgery on the gums and the beginnings of porcelain veneer treatment. Brazilian newspaper O Globo reported that Ronaldinho had the work done on Tuesday this week in the city of Belo Horizonte but he did not let the dental treatment stop him from working; he was back training with his team Atletico Mineiro soon after the appointment was complete.
Ronaldinho’s brother and agent, Roberto Assis said that the footballer was recovering well and added that ‘it’s part of his normal [dental] treatment and won’t affect him at all.’ Ronaldinho is set to make his first appearance with his improved teeth on Wednesday night, when Atletico take on Bahia in the Campeonato Brasileiro league.
