Those who opt for dental implants may want to make sure they do not end up like Happy Mondays front-man Shaun Ryder, who is reported to have had some teeth problems of late.

A post on the Express Night Out website detailed Christopher Porter’s attendance at a concert the Manchester band was playing.

However, Ryder – known for his excessive behaviour in the 1990s as part of the Madchester scene – did not look like he would last the set, Mr Porter explained.

"One of me implants fell out me tooth," the singer is reported to have told the crowd.

Mr Porter added: "His general slack demeanour was that of a man who was helped out of the bus bunk just before show time and then propped up on stage."

Ryder told the Guardian in 2007 how poor dental treatment in his early years, combined with drug use, left him with poor teeth.
