Twiggy talks about cosmetic surgery

Fri

In an interview with Good Housekeeping magazine, 60’s model Twiggy has revealed that she has not had any cosmetic treatment yet, but added ‘that’s not to say I won’t’ because she has been struggling to find work as an older actress. The Marks & Spencer model also designs her own clothing line and judges on TV show America’s Next Top Model, but admitted that there is ‘no doubt’ that younger actresses have more success in Hollywood because older actors are always paired with ’20-something love interests.’

Twiggy, 63, spoke to the magazine about the pressures of aging, saying she does not believe in diets and has yet to undergo any cosmetic surgery, although she added ‘never say never to having work done’. She doesn’t seem to be a fan of Botox or filler treatments, complaining that ‘it’s peculiar’ when women have the injections to smooth out their complexion and try to look younger for longer. When asked about her trim figure, the model admitted that her ‘downfall’ is crisps and bread, she added ‘If I eat bread every day of a week, I can feel it around my tummy, so if I stop for a week I can really feel the difference.’

Mark Liddington, of the British Association of Aesthetic Surgeons, countered Twiggy’s stance on facial fillers, by saying that the injectables are very safe when ‘used responsibly by a trained practitioner knowledgeable of the anatomy of the face, the dosages required and who is technically proficient in [Botox] administration.’
