Indian brides prepared to do anything to look perfect on their wedding day
Every bride wants to look their best on the big day and there has been a rise in the so-called ‘bridal-plasty’ all over the world; not about to be left out of the new trends, Indian brides are well and truly embracing the fashion for cosmetic treatment before their wedding day. There has been a huge increase in brides undertaking Botox and dermal filler injections to make sure their face and skin look flawless by the time their moment arrives.
29-year-old Shalini has spent a small fortune on facial treatments to improve her ‘long face’ and ‘sunken’ cheeks; ‘It made me look older than my age,’ she says, ‘I decided to go for a dermal filler and now I feel my face is fuller and prettier. It will now be easier for my make-up artist to create the illusion of high cheekbones and I will look perfect.’
Fellow bride-to-be Sona, 25, turned to Botox to achieve such perfection, saying ‘I have taken Botox shots to uplift my eyebrows. I had always longed for a high brow and after taking two shots of Botox, I can now flaunt enchanting eyes like any Bollywood actress.’
Cosmetologist Dr Rashmi Shetty explains that facial injections can be used in many ways to improve the complexion; ‘For tired-looking eyes, I recommend under eye filler which makes you look fresh and reduces the under eye lines. The lip filler is another popular treatment that helps in plumping your lips slightly, it further softens your face and makes you look glamorous.’
