Botox treatments ‘bucking economic trend’
Botox injections are still highly popular among patients in Ireland, despite the nation's financial problems.
This is according to the Irish Independent, which reported that the anti-wrinkle treatment is one of several purchases to have bucked the economic trend in recent months.
Dublin-based cosmetic surgeon Dr Patrick Treacy said both men and women have been treating themselves to Botox and other procedures.
"Five to ten per cent of our clientele is made up of men, who are getting Botox, hair transplants and other treatments," he explained.
"Botox and fillers are also holding their own with both sexes."
The specialist said approximately 50 people come to his clinic for Botox treatment every week.
Earlier this month, former EastEnders star Lucy Benjamin told Hello! magazine she plans to have Botox injections around her eyes and forehead.
The 41-year-old actress gave birth to her second child three months ago and said the treatment will help her regain her looks.
