Botox treatment ‘improves self esteem’
A regular user of Botox has said the treatment boosts his confidence by making him look younger.
Speaking to the Edmonton Sun, Shane Gauthier explained that he started receiving Botox injections three years ago to prevent deep lines appearing in his forehead.
Now 39, the Canadian claimed his youthful appearance means strangers often believe he is in his late 20s.
"It makes me feel younger and improves my self esteem. You do feel more confident," Mr Gauthier told the newspaper.
"You can't stop the aging process, but I want to look a good 39."
A 47-year-old woman known as Linda told the publication she turned to Botox as a way of combating a deep furrow between her eyes that made her face look "mean".
In a recent report by Fox Business, American plastic surgeon Dr Craig Vander Kolk said cosmetic procedures such as Botox are becoming more popular as the global economy improves.
