Botox ‘can help to treat a square jaw’
Having Botox could help people who have an overly square jaw, it has been claimed.
American Health and Beauty stated that this problem can be caused by inflammation of the temporomandibular joint, or simply more prominent muscles in one area.
Either way, treatment with Botox may help patients who feel self-conscious. It works by relaxing the muscles that create a masculine appearance when flexed, resulting in a more feminine oval shape.
The news provider explains that it will take between 24 and 48 hours to see an effect, with the results lasting around three to six months.
In October 2010, Glee star Charice Pempengco confirmed that she had Botox to treat her debilitating jaw pain.
She explained in an interview with US magazine People that she did not have the drug for cosmetic purposes, but because her mouth was causing her severe discomfort and she wanted it resolved before the new series of Glee.
