Undergoing dental treatment with the use of sedation drugs may be the only way some patients feel able to cope. Dental anxiety affects a huge number of the population and is a very recognised issue. Our staff are highly trained in supporting patients with dental phobias and have a range of techniques to help individuals feel at ease. Our IV sedation is available during all our appointments, even when a patient needs fast emergency treatment. If you would like to discuss any concerns you can call our dedicated reception team on 0203 750 5302.
Here at the clinic, we offer two types of IV sedation drugs. First of all, there is the single drug midazolam sedation. This is administered and overseen by a highly trained and experienced sedation dentist. Alternatively, there is a deeper form of sedation. While both options work very effectively, more anxious patients may find that multi-drug deep sedation is more appropriate. Deep sedation is always delivered by a qualified and highly skilled medical professional.
Both options are administered via an intravenous needle, usually into the back of the hand. The IV sedative will work almost immediately and patients will feel carefree, sleepy, and unaware of the treatment taking place. Recovery time after sedation is around twenty minutes. However, patients will need a trusted adult to accompany them home afterward as they will not be able to drive.
If you would like to discuss our sedation options further then you can call our friendly reception team on 0203 750 5302. Dental sedation is available for all our general dentistry treatments as well as in emergency dental appointments. In addition to this, the clinic provides cosmetic dentistry to enhance your smile and rejuvenate your skin. Sedation is also an option for these appointments if a patient deems this necessary. We look forward to hearing from you in the future.
